I’m so excited to share this post! A couple moths ago, I had the absolute honor of photographing the birth of some of my dearest friends’ baby boy. Having never witnessed a birth before, I had no idea what to expect. Knowing Ashley was planning a natural birth, I anticipated “some pain” ;). And that there definitely was. But somehow in the midst of it all, Ashley & Brian remained calm and lighthearted. Ashley even managed to school us a bit on the birthing process in between contractions. I guess by the time you get to your third child, you graduate to “pro” status. I’m not gonna lie…I was a bit nervous about how I (being a bit squeamish and of the “fainting persuasion”) would handle all of this. As it turns out, it was one of the most amazing, surreal, and beautiful events I’ve ever witnessed. It all happened fast…I mean real fast. There was a moment of chaos…and then before our eyes a tiny human. Magical, I tell you! And I don’t use that word…almost ever. One of the coolest parts of it all, was that I got to experience this with my friend and roommate, Tiffany, who was there to just be a help to Ashley. After the birth, Tiffany and I were able to go get Ashley & Brian’s two daughters and bring them back to the hospital for the sweetest first meeting with baby Jude. Being there to capture the girls as they looked in absolute awe and adoration (as only big sisters can), at their brand new baby brother, was pretty incredible.
